Acupuncture reduces myopia?
Yesterday a father from Subang Jaya, Mr. Luo called up and asked whether acupuncture helps to reduce myopia. From my clinical experience, myopia can be classified into "true" and "false"( or "pseudo") myopia. Treament of pseudomyopia can be easily treated by a few session of acupuncture, and the so-called "induced pseudo-power" can be easily "erased" with acupuncture. However, treating true myopia(short-sightedness) with acupuncture is not able to reduce the power significantly. In our clinic, we do acupuncture without needle. we have improved the needle acupuncture into " cyber-finger" acupunture. It is only applying finger in "space" to give maximum stimuli to the meridian points. This treatment is very useful and friendly for those who suffer from fatigue eye, tired eye, intermittent blurring of vision and pseudo-myopia due to accomodation spasm and convergence insufficiency. It is also very effective for blephrospasm (lid spasm), twitching eyelids or surrounding the orbit or trigrminal nerve (5th CN ) pain radiating from you ear.In conclusion, acupuncture can not effectively treat the "true myopia" , but acupuncture can easily treat "pseudo-myopia". However, the true myopia can only be" treated" with the latest technique called "Ortho-keratology" or "ortho-K" or "OrthoK" or " corneal reshaping therapy". Ortho-k is scientifically proven to be effective to control the progressive increase in myopia in children. Ortho-k can both reduce and control the increase of power in young children, but for adult it can only reduce the power to "zero" only.please visit my website: http://www.loyaleye.com.my/

It is worth to attend Talk !
My purpose of holding the seminar about ortho-K treatment, is to educate on this latest technology of treating the problem of wearing any spectacles both in children and adults. As the response is getting overwhelming, I am not able to answer and EXPLAIN TO EACH AND EVERYONE WHO CALLS IN. I apolpgize for the inconvenient cause due to I have only 24 hours a day. Hence, I conduct weekly seminar to meet your needs. It is alright to receive calls to find out the landmark of the location and time or issues relating to the accessiblity of my talk, or propose the time which is feasible to you. We can even specially arrange a small group at your propose time. We can conduct in Mandarin, English or Bahasa Malaysia. However, I still receive many phone calls to enquire about what is the content of my talk; they just want to know over the phone call. They are curious about the topic yet they are many excuses given to come attend the talk in my clinic.I prefer to explain the treatment with many pictures using power point presentation to solely telling you over the phone, as you can understand better. To understand the topic in depth, it is worth to spend a little time to understand the whole picture of the process of treatment, so there is no misconception of the treatment or miss communication between patient and the specialist, if you ever choose to embark onto the process of treatment. If you seriously about the ortho-K treatment, it is worth to attend one hour lecture to understand the whole procedure of treatment, its science behind, its mechanism of how it works etc. It is an interesting talk, I promise you will enjoy my presentation in a clear and illustrative way and you will never forget me as the speaker!

Ortho-K is a tiny piece of medical device in the eye, NOT a bulky Machine!
Many people has mistaken
ortho-K is a kind of machine. I frequently received phone call to enquire whether the treatment is using a kind of " machine" to treat the eye. Here, my answer to you is definitely "NO" . The machine in the market costs approximately about RM 1500, it is NOT able to reduce the short-sighted even 0.25 DS or layman term 25 degree. It is not scientifically proven. Hence, this machine is never recommended by the eye care professioner.
Here, we are talking about the ortho-K can reduce your spectacle power range from as low as 0.50DS to 10.00 DS or even higher to zero power. (layman term: 50 to 1000 degree). It is a small piece of special design contact lens less than the size of 5 sen coin , about 11mm diameters place on the corneal surface of the eye while you are sleeping. It is effective , its outcome is preditable and its technology is approved by FDA, and it is scientifically proven world wide.
There are many on going researches carrying out in many universities world wide to find out the effectiveness of controlling short-sighted in young children and solve the problem of presbyopia in adult. Ortho-k is a promising treatment for the sight of human being.

ISOK, Singapore 7th May 2008
I was standing in between two great guys when I was attaining 2nd International Symposium On Orthokeratology, in Sentosa Island, Singapore in 2008. On the right is Mr. Jason, the marketing director of the ortho-k materials, Boston. He has given me a few key books on ortho-k which are of great help to me. Thank him for his generousity! On the left is Craig Norman, his lecture is very informative and his clinical approach in solving ortho-k problems is very expericence. I enjoyed his teaching while I was in Hongkong Poly U preparing to sit for Ortho-K examination. He is definitely an excellent speaker and I have received much enlightedment by attending in his lecture.
